Today started off really promisingly. The sun was shining, the sky blue and I felt fine. I went to work, had a lovely chat to some colleagues, went outside to shift some equipment, played with Dyl on the green outside the office and suddenly out of nowhere I started with a migraine. I was not best pleased. I was so grateful to the office staff who gave me a really quiet day, so that I had time to recover. Luckily the visuals wore off pretty quickly and the pain was gone by lunchtime. I still feel a bit woolly headed, but a good nights sleep will cure that. I have to say that the dogs have been priceless. They haven’t nagged for their usual long walk. I think they must have taken one look at the vile weather that arrived this pm and thought ‘sod this for a lark!’.

Otherwise all quiet. I finally have my own van back. I had a little incident a few weeks ago and remodelled the drivers side front corner of the van and it has spent nearly 3 weeks away being repaired (it wasn’t that bad honest!) and I have been driving an awful little Vauxhall Combi van which gave me almost constant backache. I never thought i’d be that happy to see my van back, but I was.

Anyway, I am in school tomorrow working with lovely, lovely teenagers. Yay! Oh well, this school does lovely school lunches. Yummy. Oh and talking about food, I was chuffed to bits when I weighed myself. I’ve lost half a stone in 2 weeks! Chris did have to put the dampeners on it a bit by saying that the only reason I lost it was because I haven’t eaten my usual half a stones worth of chocolate in the last 2 weeks. Oh the truth does hurt!

13th April

A really quiet, chilled out day today, which  was quite pleased about as yesterday was just so busy!

Dylan did really well during his first evening at dog training and we had a few compliments by the end of the session. I was shocked at how tired I was by the end of it. Dyls walking to heel was excellent and his ‘down’ was sharp. I was so chuffed. I must remember to do the homework sheet I got though.

Chris is out tonight. He has a gig, hence i’m on here so late. I can’t rest until he;s home safe. I do go with him sometimes, but as this gig is in Nottingham he left at 5.30pm and won’t be home until 2.00 – 3.00am I decided against it this time.

Friday Morning

Dylan at the office

Why does this week feel like it’s lasting at least two? This fact isn’t helped by the way it’s pouring down outside. Dyl is sulking in his bed in the office. I’m sure he’ll start getting fidgetty and bored soon, so I hope the rain stops. He won’t be sulking tonight (or maybe he will) when he starts his training classes. He is doing his Kennel Club Good Citizens Bronze Award. I thought he ought to as he comes to work with me. He also seems to enjoy the training i’ve done with him, helped by the fact that he’s a greedy little so-and-so! I’m hoping eventually to do some Flyball and/or agility with him and from that do some extra work with Missy, who is still way to scared of strangers to be able to take her to normal training classes. I took Rosie to training classes a few times, but the instructor used to get exasperated with her, as she was the first dog the instructor had met that totally ignored, liver cake and cheese as training treats and refused point blank to have anything to do with the classes other than get dragged around the ring. Needless to say I gave up! Thank you Saluki genetics!

Having never kept a Blog or even a standard diary before, this is something of a challenge. I’m not sure even how I feel about someone else reading what i’ve typed….if anyone ever does. So rather that go into all the background stuff, as if I was writing my own story, I think i’m gong to start diary style-ee. Hopefully if anyone does read any of this, they can pick up the thread of what’s going on….. Eventually!

Well today I got up and went to work as usual. Dylan came with me and tried his usual food scrounging tactics with his fanclub at the office and was most put out when no food was forthcoming. Unfortunately the dogs had the leftover chicken casserol for their dinner last night and it had caused his little Lordhip screamingly rotten guts this morning!! No tidbits for him today!

Pretty quiet day at the office thank goodness! Yesterday was spent in Darlaston Secondary School working with year 7 kids. It’s not a bad school for behaviour, but not having kids myself, it really knocks the stuffing out a person. Wish it helped to lose weight into the bargain. Oh well, can’t have everything!

I took Dylan and Missy for a good run over the common this PM. They loved it as per usual, but they both pong,as the water levels are dropping and as they love to play ‘Sploosh’ in the stagnant puddles, they are now getting covered in stinking sludge. I can sense bath time coming soon. Dylan starts his training classes tomorrow. I can’t have the dog club thinking I keep stinky hounds!

Well, as it is still tea time, i’d better go and get some food sorted out for tonight. A nice healthy chicken stir fry. Dontcha just love dieting?! Luckily I love stir fries!
